A little about myself

I am excited to start a new career in IT. The first part of my career was spent in mortgage where I started in the IT department (we called it MIS back then). We set up the network for the mortgage company that included 3 file servers, 15 print servers and over 100 workstations. The initial network was a ring type with coaxial cable and BNC connectors. When twisted pair cable and hubs became affordable for smaller companies, we switched. We were able apply the new network in one weekend.

I eventually moved on to become a sales rep for the same mortgage company, where I stayed until the mortgage industry imploded in 2008. I enjoyed meeting new people and growing relationships. There were many challenges along the way which I overcame and those challenges helped me grow.

After the mortgage industry vanished, I started a business installing electronics on boats where I used my networking knowledge to interface the various electronics. I enjoyed this but felt that I wanted to do more so I went back to school.

These are some of my projects from a web design class. I am learning more every day!
